Hello and Welcome!

I’m Steph, a dedicated professional counsellor and the founder of Mountains and Molehills Therapy.

Just as every journey up a Mountain begins with a single step, my goal is to help you navigate life’s peaks and valleys with confidence and resilience, one session at a time. My approach to counselling is grounded in the humanistic tradition, emphasising empathy, unconditional positive regard, and the belief in each person’s inherent capacity for growth and self-actualisation.

At Mountains and Molehills Therapy, I also integrate elements from other therapeutic approaches; using Gestalt to help you explore present-moment experiences and personal responsibility; Transactional Analysis to provide insight to communication patterns and relationships; and Polyvagal Theory to help understand how the nervous system influences emotional and relational experiences. By working together to recognise patterns of behaviour and your different psychological states, the integrated approach I facilitate means I can tailor sessions to meet your personal needs, allowing us as a team to take on the mountains and smooth out the molehills, making for a smoother journey through life.

Whether you’re seeking support for personal development, relationship issues, or navigating life’s challenges including bereavement, addiction, chronic depression or anxiety, Mountains and Molehills Therapy offers everyone a safe, non-judgemental space where you can explore every thought and feeling. Together we can work towards your goals, no matter how big or small they may feel, and empower you to live a more fulfilling and authentic life, giving you back the power to climb the Mountains, and step over the Molehills.

My Services

I understand that each and every person is different, and this means your needs will all be different too. I have studied and worked hard to build my own toolbox of skills and knowledge in order to cater to your individual needs in a way that works best for you.

I can provide a space to work with you online via zoom or Teams, so you can process your material from the comfort of your own home.

I can also facilitate walk and talk therapy. Northampton may be a bustling town, but there are beautiful pockets hidden away where we can explore your material and process your thoughts surrounded by nature and wildlife. There is a lot of evidence to show the benefits being in nature can have, including improved mood, lowered stress levels and better sleep, as well as the physical benefits too!

I am a strong advocate for embracing outdoor spaces and believe this is one of the best ways to start making small changes which can be stepping-stones to overcoming life’s mountains.

Locations to work in this way include Sywell Park, Salcey Forest, Hazeley Wood, Stanwick Lakes and Everton Stubbs.
